Meal Plans

Yes!

You can add or remove recipes as you prefer. When viewing a pre-made meal plan click SAVE TO MY COLLECTIONS. This automatically redirects you to your Planner where you can select it from your collection of meal plans. Within the meal plan:

(1) You can click ADD ITEM and add a recipe that you have saved to your Recipe Box, Search Recipes, Add Custom Recipe, or Add Note. Select to the left of the item you want to add.

(2) You can click the button REMOVE ITEM to the side or bottom of your meal plan and then click the trashcan icon to the left of the items you want to remove. When you’re done, click the button STOP REMOVING ITEMS.

(3) If you wish to start from scratch, you can click the button in the upper left corner of your Planner labeled START A NEW MEAL PLAN to start a blank plan.

Your Planner has a blank meal plan waiting to be customized by you called My First Meal Plan.

You can edit this the same way you customize pre-made meal plans.

To start a new custom meal plan select the START A NEW MEAL PLAN button at the top of the Planner page.

You can add recipes to meal plans in two ways.

(1) If you have something in mind already, Select ADD ITEM on your plan and select SEARCH RECIPES from the first dropdown. Type out what you had in mind in the search box. Options will start displaying below. You can scroll down and LOAD MORE until you see something you like. Select to the left of the item you’d like to add.

(2) If you don’t have anything in mind, go to the Discover Recipes page. Use the advanced filters to narrow your search. When you see something you’d like to add, click into the recipe and select the green ADD TO COLLECTION button below the image. If you want to search more you can click the back button in your browser to return to your search. If you’re done searching, click the green button in the recipe again which should now say GO TO COLLECTIONS. This takes you to your Planner where you can select the meal plan you’d like to add the recipe to. Once in the meal plan select ADD ITEM and the recipe will be in your Recipe Box ready to add by selecting to the left of it.

If you change your mind and decide not to add something to a specific spot on your meal plan after selecting ADD ITEM, simply click the name of the day/column to go back to viewing your meal plan.

To print the meal plan you must generate the shopping list first. Click the SHOPPING LIST button and select the days you want included, then select GENERATE SHOPPING LIST. Scroll to the bottom and select PRINT SHOPPING LIST. From there you’ll be taken to a screen where you can select which items you want to print. To print only the meal plan, uncheck Shopping List and Show Checked Items so only Collection is checked, then select PRINT.

With your active membership, you will have direct access to the current pre-made meal plan as well as all past meal plans under Pre-Made Plans. All meal plans will remain as you last customized them or in their default released form, if you didn’t make any modifications.

Currently, the default is 7 days but you can easily adjust your plan to 5 days or any number of days you wish.

Within your meal plan click the COLUMNS & GROUPS button found to the side or below your meal plan. Click EDIT COLUMNS then select the trashcan icon next to the days you want to remove. You can also add days by selecting ADD COLUMN and naming it. When done select STOP EDITING.

Groceries & Shopping Lists

If it’s a new meal plan and you haven’t generated a shopping list yet, then everything will be up to date when you select GENERATE SHOPPING LIST.

If you have already generated a shopping list for a specific meal plan and then make any changes to the plan, you’ll need to select REGENERATE SHOPPING LIST located at the bottom of your shopping list for the changes to be reflected.

Recipes & Nutrition

Yes, nutritional information is available for all recipes.

At the bottom of each recipe you’ll see the nutrition information for that recipe.

Please note that the nutritional information is an estimate generated by a third-party service. Although this service utilizes the USDA Food Database, it is encouraged to calculate it with the specific ingredients and brands you use if you require more precise information.

On the Discover Recipes page, use the advanced filtering options to find exactly what you’re looking for. You can filter by meal type, ingredients, keywords, equipment, cook time, calories (per serving), or simply start typing in the search box.

To start your search over, select the RESET ALL button.

These are tags that have been added to certain recipes to help define them more so you can find what you’re looking for faster.

You’ll be able to search for recipes in the database by typing these keywords into the search box on the Discover Recipes page or by selecting them from the KEYWORDS dropdown.

Within the recipe, the keywords that apply to that recipe can be seen under the Cook Time.

Keyword definitions:
“Easy” – One cooking method (like one-pot) or in a blender OR only requires 10 ingredients or less
“Quick” – Less than 30 minute to prepare
“One-pot” – All cooking and preparing can be done in the same pot
“Cold” – No cooking required
“Smoothie” – All smoothie recipes
“Soy-free/Gluten-free/Nut-free” – Allergen friendly recipes. If one of these allergens is present in a recipe it will be denoted by an asterisk (*) and an alternative will be listed in the notes section.

To change serving quantities, open up a recipe and click on the number next to “servings.” A sliding scale will pop up allowing you to drag the slider left or right to increase or decrease the number or servings.

When searching the recipe database on the Discover Recipes page, under the KEYWORDS dropdown select Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, and Soy-Free to only show those recipes when searching.

If an (*) is next to one of these allergens in an ingredient list, refer to the notes below the recipe for a suitable replacement.

To print all of the recipes on your meal plan, select the PRINT RECIPES button located to the side or bottom of your meal plan. From there you can choose to include images or not.

To print individual recipes, view the recipe by clicking the image or title of the recipe. Select the PRINT RECIPE button below the image. From there you can choose to include the image or not, as well as adjust the number of servings before printing.

Navigate to your Recipe Box in your Planner and select ADD ITEM, then from the dropdown select ADD CUSTOM RECIPE. From there you’ll be able to name it, add ingredients and their amounts along with nutrition facts. At this time it does not allow adding instructions. Its main use is adding additional foods to your plan for calorie and macro tracking but we plan to add more functionality to custom recipes in the future!

To add it to your meal plans, click ADD ITEM within the meal plan you want to add it to and select ADD FROM COLLECTION in the first dropdown and select Recipe Box in the second dropdown. Find the custom recipe you want to add and select to the left of it.
